Advanced Coloring Book

I have seen a lot of color by number coloring books in my time and coloring books that are also designed to challenge you.   This is the first time though I’ve seen a coloring book that has, what I am calling, Extreme Pointillism.

The creator of this coloring book has taken images and converted them to coloring pages with a massive difference.    He is of the view that a picture can be “seen” in a photorealistic format just by using 5 colors and dots to unveil the masterpiece hiding on the page.

There are no outlines to guide you on what the picture is.    Instead, the picture has been divided into 5 letters RGBYK each representing a color (red, green, blue, yellow, and black).    These letters are printed on the page.   The colorist then places a dot using the appropriate color.    Each page requires thousands and thousands of dots in order to reveal the picture. The illustrations do not fill the entire page so it is a smaller area with a lot of faint letters on it, making it very difficult for colorists that have visual impairments, low vision, or who suffer eye strain easily.

Coloring with Extreme Pointillism is great for those who have fabulous eyesight or a magnifying glass and love of a challenge.

The coloring book contains 20 pages to apply this method.    Each page may require a different amount of dots but the 5 colors always remain the same.   In total, the 20 images to color will require you to make more than 300,000 dots!

The Advanced Coloring Book may also suit young adults and those colorists that love the repetitive focus that this book would provide.

Images have been printed in a light grey letter.  Where no letter is shown the area is left white.   The illustration does not fill the entire page.

About the author

coloringqueen

I'm Lea and I love everything to do with coloring! If it is a coloring book, a poster or even a bookmark that you can color in, I'm all over it. Of course, a girl has to have some pencils, markers, gelly rolls, pastels and what not to make those pictures pretty and I love those as well.

Whilst my coloring style lacks skill, I am enthusiastic and focused on enjoying the moment and having fun.
