The Magical Guineapig and Friends Colouring Book Video Review

I hope you enjoyed the video review of The Magical Guineapig and Friends Colouring Book illustrated by Katie Leonard.

Cover & Layout

The Magical Guineapig and Friends colouring book is the second colouring book by UK illustrator, Katie Leonard.

You can see my review of Katie’s first colouring book,  The Magical Guineapig here.

This is a compact sized coloring book measuring 8.5 in x 8.5 in.

An anti scuff card has been used for the cover of the book to ensure your colouring book wears well.

The cover features colored art of Guineapigs and bunnies that are featured throughout the book.   You will also find this page included in the book for you to color as well.

Illustrations have been printed on one side only of the paper.   This means that you can use markers or whatever medium that you fancy.

The paper is a smooth white medium quality and 120 gsm.

I have used Tombow waterbrush markers, Spectrum Noir alcohol based markers and Ganghui watercolor pencils on my copy.

The alcohol markers do show on the reverse of the page so you do need to ensure that you have a blotter page in between your projects.

The watercolor markers and pencils were used with only a small amount of water as pilling can occur if too much water is used.

Art Work

The artwork in The Magical Guineapig and Friends Colouring Book is sweet and whimsical.  Naturally, it would appeal to fans of guinea pigs and lovers of small animals.

As the line art has a lot of large open spaces and clear, thick black lines, it makes it suitable for colorists of all ages and skill levels.

There are different levels of complexity of images in the book.    Pictures that can be completed in one short sitting and those that you could spend hours on, adding accents, embellishments and backgrounds.

About the author

coloringqueen

I'm Lea and I love everything to do with coloring! If it is a coloring book, a poster or even a bookmark that you can color in, I'm all over it. Of course, a girl has to have some pencils, markers, gelly rolls, pastels and what not to make those pictures pretty and I love those as well.

Whilst my coloring style lacks skill, I am enthusiastic and focused on enjoying the moment and having fun.
