The Coloring Book of Cards & Envelopes – Christmas Video Review

I hope you enjoyed the video of the coloring cards and envelopes with  a Christmas theme by Rebecca Jones.

The Coloring Book of Cards & Envelopes – Christmas

I seen this lovely book of  Christmas cards and matching envelopes and seals months ago.  At  that time I thought I would restrain myself with  Christmas themed coloring book purchases to a few select titles.    I then realised that I could not live without the cute book of cards and envelopes that you could color in and give for Christmas and had to have it 🙂   I wish I had purchased the book earlier,  at my rate of coloring, the cards won’t be ready to send until next Christmas!

Cover & Layout

The card cover of this book is decorated with a lovely mint background.   Red foil highlights  give it a festive touch.

The book measures 27cm x 28.5 cm.

Inside this gorgeous and practical coloring  book you will find  24 Christmas themed cards with matching envelopes and sticker seals.

I was curious as to how the envelopes would be presented, whether they were colorable or not and whether they were ready to send.      The envelopes are printed on a page which you then fold and glue together to make the envelope – don’t worry the instructions are included!   This can be sealed using one of the matching stickers that are included with the book.

Layout

I love the way that this concept has been presented as a book.     Rather than having ready folded cards that may not be easier to store the book format works really well for me.    You can color within the book or remove the  card you are working on along the perforated page.   When you having finished your seasonal coloring, if there are any pages left in your book you can pop it on the shelf for next year.

The cards are printed on lovely, white thick card stock paper.

The front of the card has an illustration relating to the Christmas spirit.  The facing part of  the card has a place for you to add your  name as colorist.   The reverse of the page shows the inside  of the card.   These are also decorated with imagery that relate to the theme of the card.    The matching envelope and sticker is also decorated in this way.   This means that every card is unique and different and no two illustrations have been used twice.

As well as the perforation to remove the card from the book there is also a cutting guide line so you can neaten up the edges with scissors and a fold crease so you know where to fold the card over.

The envelopes are also decorated lavishly with little elements to color on the outside and a pattern on the inside.   I really don’t think I would have the energy to color the pattern 🙁  but it looks lovely in just line art form.

Illustrations

I love that Rebecca Jones has included such a variety of illustrations within this card pack.    There are cards suitable for traditionalists,  modern card scenes, fun and quirky animals all imbued with a lovely festive spirit.   I have completely fallen in love with Rebecca Jones illustrations and her colored prints that she has in her store.     My only regret is not buying the cards earlier so I could make more headway before Christmas.

I am hoping that Santa will bring me some of the other cards that Rebecca Jones illustrates as well!    There is a range of cards in this series by Rebecca Jones and they would make a lovely gift for a colorist.

About the author

coloringqueen

I'm Lea and I love everything to do with coloring! If it is a coloring book, a poster or even a bookmark that you can color in, I'm all over it. Of course, a girl has to have some pencils, markers, gelly rolls, pastels and what not to make those pictures pretty and I love those as well.

Whilst my coloring style lacks skill, I am enthusiastic and focused on enjoying the moment and having fun.
