Amazing Swirls Coloring Book Review
Amazing Swirls Coloring Book for Adults enticed me to buy it with the vibrant cover. The soft cover has a lovely black background and the floral images really pop against it. When I seen it online it jumped into my cart faster than a speeding bullet (or me in a bookshop). The back cover features 6 thumbnail images of drawings from within the book. In total there are 24 illustrations.
The title page in the book has a nice doodle on it. This would be useful to practice your techniques and test out your markers.
The illustrations are well centred on the page and the line work is crisp, black and sharp. The first illustration is of a peacock and has some large spaces ideal for those (like me) that do not like fiddly bits, it’s followed by a floral image that also has large spaces, there are 2 owls- the detail in this is a little higher than previous images, you will find lots of swirls and flowers throughout the book. The highlight for me is the picture of the cat. I love cats. I have dogs (I love them too). I love all animals (except creepy crawlies). But back to the cat… the cat is in the midst of some doodle flowers and looks very cute and regal. You will also find a lovely swan, another peacock and butterflies to color. I am not sure how I feel about this book. I like the illustrations of the various animals that have been included but I think I would have preferred a more theme based book of doodle, swirly things. Everyone is different, any you may like the variety that this book gives you. Perhaps, that’s the problem. If I only had a handful of coloring books I would probably appreciate this one more but as I have over 200 ….
The paper is white and thin. It is the common type of paper used in most coloring books on the market. Before diving in with your markers test them on the front title page.
The publisher and artist have also given you a special treat at the end of the book which is another coloring book in digital form. You will have to purchase the book in order to obtain the digital additional book which contains 13 more drawings.
