Tenderful Enchantments Coloring Book

I feel like I’ve been waiting for this moment for months now. The day that Klara Markova would announce her new coloring book a follow up to the amazingly beautiful Magical Delights (Carovne Lahodnosti). As most readers will know, I adore this book. It has the luxury and whimsy that I love. When Klara said months ago that she was working on a new book, I nearly cried -happy tears.

Thankfully for fans of Klara Markova the new coloring book will be released in English as Tenderful Enchantments Coloring Book and in Czech as well as Nehyplne Čarovnosti Coloring Book.

About Klára Marková

Klara Markova is a Czech jewellery designer and illustrator.    Her jewellery is created using traditional methods and has a sense of dreaminess and magic about it.   Little fairy houses and fairy bracelets have been created in silver and delicately molded.  There are amulets and crystals that are widely used.    Her jewellery is very indicative of her drawings in her first coloring book.    There are flowers, leaves, crystals and fruit representations that have been recreated into magic rings and fairy bracelets.   This similar imagery  is also in the coloring book and reminds you of her hand crafted jewellery.    An artist that creates jewels like this and lives in a dreamy, magical world  could only reproduce the same in illustrative form.   Her first coloring book, Carovne Lahodnosti (Magical Delights) reflects this magical world of elves, fairies and crystals and other delights.   Like her jewellery this coloring book encompasses a craftsman touch with a high attention to detail.

I'm Lea and I love everything to do with coloring! If it is a coloring book, a poster or even a bookmark that you can color in, I'm all over it. Of course, a girl has to have some pencils, markers, gelly rolls, pastels and what not to make those pictures pretty and I love those as well.

Whilst my coloring style lacks skill, I am enthusiastic and focused on enjoying the moment and having fun.

  • Hi My name is Julia and I have only recently came across this wonderful artist and het hook(s). I am from South Africa and find it difficult to order the book. According to Amazone’ the book is out of stock and cannot be ordered . Please can you help. I would also like to know when we can pre-order the second book. Thanks Julia

    • Hi Julia, the link above to Klara’s etsy store will ship the book to you in South Africa. I will update the post when Klara makes the second coloring book available for ordering. Happy coloring x

  • Hi – I too have bought two of her first book. I do this occasionally as my hands twitch with spinal damage and I make a big scrawl across the page 🙁 The books are Exquisite quality and small enough to work with , without losing the beauty. I see the magic and it makes me glow with pleasure. I think the publishers let the illustrators down with quality and paper worthy books. Its also sad that the book industry don’t make a set of simple rules and regs to follow with regards to the actual book and its saleability. I’m sure they miss out on sales because it doesn’t state anything about paper and hardbacked / paperback etc There are some books of amazing images produced on the worst kind of paper. I wonder if I’m the only one who thinks this ???

    • Klara is unusual in that she has elected to print the book herself. Most artists are not able to do this due to the high upfront cost and the fact that most printers even for a short run, require 500 odd prints. The more you order, naturally the prices goes down but they may not have the audience to “test” the market for that. Even Johanna’s books were printed in short run first of all. Often the only way to do this is print in China, wait for the proofs and then decide if you wish to proceed but again you need to have a large order. Sadly most artists just do not have the fan base of buyers that can justify this. The alternative is then print on demand. The book is printed as soon as it is ordered. Amazon are the largest players in the POD space. This is the only way that most indie artists can get their books printed as they do not need to order a bulk run. Of course, the problem is that they have no choice on paper and are stuck with the tradestock paper that Amazon’s pod publisher, Create Space offers. There have been a massive amount of requests to CreateSpace to provide more paper options but in the POD market the coloring segment is only tiny (compared to say fiction). There is no book industry or regulator which is why it is so easy to enter the market and everyone has an opportunity to get published. I hope that makes sense. Klara’s books are magical and just looking at the coves makes me nearly want to cry. I don’t know how she does it, but there’s a little fairy at work there! Happy coloring x

      • Thanks Lea – I fully understand now – it is sad that the humble artist who have such talent and insight have to offer their work this way. Ive got past this now by printing on watercolour and mixed media paper. I don’t take good books apart, just the lower quality paper ones. Scanning can now be fine tuned so my pictures are better re light and textures. Do you have a partner who believes or not ? Mine ( Andy) thinks its all twaddle……..Mandyx
