Regular readers will know that there’s nothing I like more than a bunny, particularly a bunny in an outfit.    That’s why when I purchased Rhapsody in the Forest, Japanese Coloring Book last  year I was smitten.   All of those gorgeous animals, some dressed up in cute little outfits.   Rhapsody in the Forest was one of the first Japanese coloring books I purchased ….there’s been many more since then but it remains a favorite.

I had long hoped that Japanese artist,  Kanoko Egusa would be more widely distributed so her art work would be available at a reasonable price for more colorists.

Fortunately,  Dutch publishers  BBNC Uitgevers have acquired the reprint rights for this gorgeous book.

The advantage of this Dutch edition of the book is that it is stocked at more online outlets such as Amazon and Book Depository.   This translates to cost savings for colorists with UK residents having free shipping if they are a Prime user and free shipping Worldwide for Book Depository purchasers.

The Dutch edition of  Rhapsody in the Forest will be named “Rapsodie in het bos Kleurboek” and will be available on Book Depository here as well as Amazon UK at this stage.

You can pre-order Rapsodie in het bos kleurboek now ahead of its release date of 15 October 2017.

Happy coloring x

Kanoko Egusa is a Japanese designer and illustrator. Her first coloring book for adults, Rhapsody in the Forest enchanted us with delightful animals dressed up. Her work is whimsical and sweet while being very detailed and realistic.

About the author

I'm Lea and I love everything to do with coloring! If it is a coloring book, a poster or even a bookmark that you can color in, I'm all over it. Of course, a girl has to have some pencils, markers, gelly rolls, pastels and what not to make those pictures pretty and I love those as well.

Whilst my coloring style lacks skill, I am enthusiastic and focused on enjoying the moment and having fun.

  • Connie, are you in the US (or can purchase from Amazon.com)? The original Japanese book is available on Amazon.com for $17.95 just now, fulfilled from Amazon, so it won’t take forever and you know you’ll get it in 2 days or less. Just a thought!

  • Oh, and Lea, have you heard anything about paper quality and that sort of thing? I was wondering about that, and the size of the book (hopefully the new publisher will keep it the same size and all that good stuff).

    • I’ve ordered the Dutch version of Vivi so I can compare them (same publisher). The Dutch edition looks like it is keeping to the same sizing and format – just want to see some paper to make sure! Happy coloring x
