Pusheen Coloring Book Video Review

I hope you enjoyed the video walk through about of the Pusheen Coloring Book for adults and all ages.

Pusheen Coloring Book Review

Pusheen and Grumpy Cat are probably the most popular cats on the internet today.     Pusheen is an animated grey tabby cat that enjoys over 9.3 million followers on Facebook!  Little wonder she is so popular.   She is deliciously cute, cuddly and pastel pretty.      If you have not seen Pusheen then check out the cute Facebook stickers of Pusheen next time you are on Facebook or browse her website filled with gorgeous pics and swag.  Fans of Pusheen can also sign up for swag to be delivered four times a year with PusheenBox.     Sometimes, I wish my dogs would get a job 🙂

I knew at some stage that Pusheen would release a coloring book.   After all, she has books, stationery, calendars, cups, clothing and accessories and plush toys – so a coloring book would be a natural to follow.

Cover & Layout

Regular readers will know  that it is the cover that draws me to a book.    How could I possibly resist this beautiful glossy cover, colored in a range of pretty pastels, with a complementary mint spine (which immediately made me think of ice cream together with the ice cream cone pictures).   Of course, I couldn’t resist the cover and my love for all things kitty related!    The cover title is in a lovely circle that has raised outline work.    The back cover has a similar circle in mint, not embossed, that promises “cute coloring for relaxing”.

The blurb accurately sums up what this book is all about.   Fun!   Color in some cute Pusheen the cat pics and relax and unwind.    You are not coloring for your work to be hung in the National Art Gallery but to have a good time and enjoy yourself and relax.  Too often we forget that in our quest for learning new techniques and acquiring new mediums.

Inside the cover a mint green background is the backdrop for a variety of Pusheen the cats in white line art.

Ancillary Pages

A lovely title page starts the book decorated with an abundance of Pusheens and little mushrooms.  It is very cute.  On the reverse is detail about the publishers and copyright information.  As always, this is a great spot to test out your mediums and how they react with the paper before you dive in and start coloring.

Layout

The illustrations are printed on both sides of the white paper which is a medium quality.     Most of the images are contained within the one page of the book.   There is only one double page scene, so it would have been extra nice if the pages were single sided to allow for use of all mediums.

The line art in this book is black, crisp and bold.   Throughout the book you will find a medium to heavy line weight has been used.     Colorists that have visual impairment or are challenged by small spaces will love the ease with which you can see these lines and the large open areas to color in.

All of the images have been orientated portrait style.

Illustrations

The illustrations are what you would expect from a Pusheen coloring book – lots of pictures of Pusheeen the cat!   The illustrations are simple designs and outlines without fine detail.  The simple style is well suited to this type of coloring book for Pusheen fans.

Throughout the book other elements have been added to the Pusheen pages like cupcakes, flowers, geometrics, radios, fish, castles and even a unicorn!   There are also some pages that have text on them with cute little sayings. Other pages have been illustrated to correspond with a theme like Autumn for example and Halloween.

There is a lovely range of  cute little images to color in here and I could imagine that this is one that you may  enjoy coloring with a child as well.

This book is suitable for colorists of all ages and skill levels.

About the author

coloringqueen

I'm Lea and I love everything to do with coloring! If it is a coloring book, a poster or even a bookmark that you can color in, I'm all over it. Of course, a girl has to have some pencils, markers, gelly rolls, pastels and what not to make those pictures pretty and I love those as well.

Whilst my coloring style lacks skill, I am enthusiastic and focused on enjoying the moment and having fun.
