A sensational compilation of the most striking images taken from the Morphia series has been gathered together in a celebration of Kerby Rosanes's talent.

Colormorphia is a selection of Kerby Rosanes's most remarkable artwork, featuring a stunning, full-color sixteen-page section at the beginning of the book that displays some of the most accomplished completed artworks produced by Kerby's fans. These demonstrate the range of approaches colorists can experiment with when coloring. Kerby comments on the styles and the results, describing why they work so well.

The artworks displayed in the color section are included in the black-and-white section of the book, too, giving the reader the opportunity to duplicate the approach should they wish. In addition, there are a variety of images to color featuring the very best from Kerby's Morphia portfolio. These include show-stopping spreads, such as the tiger from Animorphia and the camel from Imagimorphia, among others, plus a section of single-sided pages that can be removed, once colored, for display.

Kerby Rosanes has given us a multitude of intricate coloring books to enjoy including Animorphia, Imagimorphia, Mythomorphia, Fantomorphia and Geomorphia.     The first 3 of Kerby’s books were double sided and incredibly intricate.    The last two books that Kerby has produced are single sided and often the images are less detailed than the previous works.

Kerby Rosanes had previously stated that Geomorphia would be the last coloring book in the “morphia” series. It appears that is not the case. Another book will be produced called “Colormorphia”.

Colormorphia differs from the previous books in a number of respects.

Colormorphia starts with 16 full color spreads showing completed pages from the “morphia” series.    The artwork has been done by Kerby’s fans.   In addition to the art, there is a commentary by Kerby on the style and coloring used by the colorist.       These 16 pages are also included in the book as line art for you to color as well.  You can either use the colored images as inspiration or choose your own.

As well as the line art for the fan based pages there are also popular page spreads from the “morhpia” series making a total book size of 80 pages.  Some of the pages will be printed on single pages for ease of removal for framing.  The first three books from Kerby were 96 pages and the last two were 48 pages to give you an idea of sizing.

Although I hadn’t planned to buy any more Kerby Rosanes books, my obsession with having a complete collection from an artist continues.   I will have to buy Colormorphia to complete the set!  I am looking forward to seeing the colored fan art as this will be an art as well as coloring book for me.

Colormorphia is due for release on 19 March 2019.

About the author

coloringqueen

I'm Lea and I love everything to do with coloring! If it is a coloring book, a poster or even a bookmark that you can color in, I'm all over it. Of course, a girl has to have some pencils, markers, gelly rolls, pastels and what not to make those pictures pretty and I love those as well.

Whilst my coloring style lacks skill, I am enthusiastic and focused on enjoying the moment and having fun.
