"My monthly round up of the coloring books to be released that I am looking forward to"
This post contains affiliate links you can use to purchase the product. If you buy a book for example, using that link, I will receive a commission of about 25 c from the sale which I can use to offset the expense of running this site, purchasing books and providing giveaways. Your support is very much appreciated x
This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all coloring books being released. Bear in mind, that there are hundreds and hundreds of books being released every month. I cannot possibly keep up with all of them!
This list of new releases is only books that have taken my fancy, and that I think that you may like as well. Due to the high cost of postage for most readers, this list will usually not include International releases.
Many of these books I will be reviewing as part of my coloring book reviews.
Please also bear in mind that different countries often have different publication dates. Something may be released in the US earlier than in the UK or vice versa.
If you know of a new release that you think I may be interested in leave a comment in the comments area below
Let’s go …..
Downton Abbey Coloring Book
Fans of the popular, historical based, tv series of Downtown Abbey can relive their favorite moments and color their favorite characters in the Downton Abbey Coloring Book. As well as 96 illustrations depicting the scenes, fashions and characters from the show “Each iconic image is accompanied by a witty, heartfelt, or amusing remark”. It is unclear from the publisher’s blurb whether the illustrations are printed on single sided paper but it would appear from the “look inside” that that is the case.
The Little Mermaid: A Coloring Book
The beautiful Hans Christian Andersen classic story has been brought to life in coloring book form. Fans of Hans Christian Andersen, fairy tales and colorists that love ocean, mermaid and under the sea coloring books may enjoy this one. The illustrations are printed on both sides of the paper and some appear quite detailed.

Alien: The Coloring Book
Most readers would realise that this is not a coloring book that I would rush to buy 🙂 I’m too scared! I know some of you are far braver than me though 🙂 The Official Alien coloring book does not have a publisher’s blurb, at the time of writing, but I do have some pictures below.

Winnie-the-Pooh: A Colouring Book
I have such a soft spot for Winnie the Pooh! How could you not want to color Paddington Bear, Piglet or Eeyore. Like Beatrix Potter and Dr Seuss coloring books these coloring books are so nostalgic and sentimental that it’s hard not to fall for them (at least for me!) This coloring book also features quotations from A. A. Milne to help you wander down memory lane.

Creative Haven Alice in Wonderland Designs Coloring Book
Most people know that I have an Alice obsession so you will not be surprised that this latest “Alice” coloring book has made it to my list. I always feel that Creative Haven offer very good value with their coloring books and coupled with the illustrations of the well known, Marty Noble, this Alice in Wonderland Coloring Book is sure to be a hit. There are 31 illustrations printed on single sided, perforated paper as is the style with Creative Haven coloring books.
The Colouring Book of Cards and Envelopes: Fabulous Flowers and Perfect Patterns
I adore stationery! Last year, I purchased the Christmas Colouring cards illustrated by Rebecca Jones from Nosy Crow. Since then I’ve become obsessed with these card sets. There are a number of different themes that you can choose from. Each card is printed on lovely cardstock paper and has a matching envelope to color as well. It is all topped off with a colorful printed sticker that matches each card in the book. In total there are 24 different cards in the set to color which have been illustrated by Rachel Cloyne.

Kristy’s Summer Cutting Garden: A Watercoloring Book
Following up from her previousPainterly Days watercoloring books (which are still in my “to review” stack) Kristy Rice has released another coloring book for colorists that love to use watercolors in their coloring books. This book contains 25 detailed and whimsical illustrations and is a companion to her Spring Cutting Garden Coloring Book. Both coloring books have been printed for use with watercolors or wet mediums.
Please note that the release date has now been pushed back to June, 2017.
Color Workshop: A Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Artistic Effects
This lovely technique book has been created by the talented Rachel Reinert. You may remember her from her beautiful coloring books, Botanical Wonderland and Desert Wonderland. When you look at her colored pages she creates amazing effects that give her finished pages a real delicate but vibrant feel. Thankfully, she has decided to put this knowledge into a guide that explains the techniques and also includes 24 practice pages for you to color as well.
