Treasury 2 Coloring Book Review
The Adult Coloring Book Treasury or “Treasury” as it is often called, is the second coloring book produced as a collaborative effort of 70 independent artists.
The first Adult Coloring Book Treasury comprised the artwork from 55 artists. That artwork was then compiled painstakingly into a massive coloring book for adults to enjoy.
The wonderful thing about the Treasury coloring books is that it introduces you to artists that you may never have heard of. The other advantage of a collaborative book like this that it helps you further discover an artist. You may have already seen some of an artist’s work but didn’t realise that they have different styles of art in other coloring books. This helps you get a taste of their product range for a low cost. Treasury is like discovering a ton of talent where you can pick and choose the picture you want to color, depending on what mood you are in, or what artistic style you like.
When Treasury 1 came out I immediately bought a couple of copies as I knew it would make a perfect gift for those new to coloring or unsure of what they actually liked to color. Treasury 2 is no different in that way, except it is bigger!
Cover & Layout
The cover of Treasury 2 replicates the same imagery as on Treasury 1 for consistency. This time they have selected an autumn toned color scheme for the art work. The difficulty with a collaborative book like this is finding a cover that can showcase the work that is within it. Virtually an impossible task with such a diverse range. It appears that the Treasury artists have instead decided to brand their covers with the same imagery for consumer recognition, and just change the color tone.
The images are printed on white trade stock paper with one image per page. The name of the artist and the website address is printed inconspicuously near the spine of the book.
Illustrations
The illustrations are diverse as you would expect from the combined efforts of 70 artists.
The line work on the whole is black, crisp and clear. There are one or two images that are not as crisp as others but that could be the artistic style.
It was far too difficult to choose which pages to photograph from Treasury 2 with such a diverse range of whimsical, geometric, mandalas, animals, quotes, people and more images so I’ll just stick to the video for this one 🙂

Treasury 2 is a not for profit coloring book. This means that the book is sold at cost. The artists do not make a penny from their contribution to the book. This book is a way to showcase the art work of artists that you may not have had the opportunity to see and color.
This book makes a lovely gift for those that are new to coloring, those that may want to try coloring but are unsure if this hobby is for them, colorists that want great value for money and those that perhaps would like to challenge themselves to color numerous different styles.
The folks at Treasury have set up a specific Facebook group where you can get to know the artists showcased in Treasury 1 and Treasury 2 and upload your completed pictures from the books. The link to the Facebook group is in the Treasury book.

Didn’t think I’d much like this, but I do. Do you have a favorite style or subject you enjoy coloring? I like people the best and patterns the least. Always color in the wrong place and wreck the pattern.

I’m a moody creature DeeDee sometimes I love mandalas, this surprises me because I’m not really”into” mandalas but I do find them soothing from time to time. Like you, with patterns, I often make a mistake and then I can’t fix it! My fave thing is whimsical pictures. I’m not very good at coloring but I do like anything that is whimsical. Hopefully my efforts will improve over time! I’d love to be able to color people better …but I need a lot more practice! Happy coloring x
I’m with you on whimsical-in fact I’ve been coloring Jasmine Becket-Griffith’s Halloween girls lately. They are very forgiving that my coloring skills are middle of the road at best. : )
JBG is one talented lady her girls are just beautiful! I don’t think they would forgive my coloring though. I describe my style as enthuisiastic toddler skill level 🙂 Happy coloring x
